So you finally get to go on that long awaited, lengthy, and well deserved vacation. Your bags are packed and your ready to go but there’s one problem. How are you going to maintain the house while you’re gone? There are a number of simple solutions to this dilemma to keep you happy and worry free so that you have more time to relax and less reason to stress.
Many teenagers appreciate a way to make money. Ask around your neighborhood about a reliable, trustworthy teen that might be willing to check up on your house such as making sure the grass stays cut or the flowers stay watered. Friends, family members and neighbors can also be helpful in situations like this. They can collect your mail or newspapers while you are away to avoid build-up. If your yard is landscaped you might want to consider a gardening service instead of placing such a responsibility on an individual.
There is also the matter of pets. If you own a pet or multiple pets you should ask someone you trust who is responsible to look after your pet while you are gone or consider a boarding house for your pet. You can also ask your post office hold your mail for you until you return if you cannot find anyone to pick it up as well as ask the newspaper company to suspend deliver of your papers for a period of time.

You want to make sure someone has a number to reach you in case of an emergency but you do not want all of your friends and family calling you non stop while you are trying to relax and enjoy your time away. As long as you follow these tips, you can easily sit back and rest with your mind set at ease. Worrying about your house will end up being the furthest thing from your mind.
